Piedmont Habitat for Humanity: A Brush With Kindness- Affordable Repairs
- Organization Details
Piedmont Habitat partners with individuals, churches, businesses, civic organizations, government, schools, and other nonprofits to help build homes and repair homes. We serve those in need of safe, decent, affordable housing in the counties of Prince Edward, Buckingham, Cumberland, Charlotte, and Nelson. Applicants are considered who have a demonstrated need for an improved housing situation, the ability to pay an affordable mortgage or home repair loan, and are willing to partner with Habitat through volunteering.
The ReStore, our retail store, resells gently used donated furniture, household goods, appliances, and building materials and uses the proceeds to help fund the housing mission.
- Services Offered
For some individuals and families who already own their home, there is often a need for minor, exterior repairs which they may be unable to do on their own or unable to afford. Our repair program, with its focus on home preservation, serves housing needs where building a new home is not necessary. This helps preserve existing affordable housing and pride for the homeowner and the community. AT THIS TIME WE ARE ONLY DOING REPAIRS IN CHARLOTTE COUNTY. In addition, you must have been a resident of Charlotte County for at least 12 months and own your home.
